Snow covers stork nests in Belozem

Apr. 07, 2025
In the spring that has already arrived, most of the white storks nesting in Belozem occupied their nests, and probably the last snow of this winter literally covered them.Although the sight is not at all common, it is not that worrying for the birds and their future generation. The stork families are not seriously disturbed by the snowy conditions and continue to be inseparable from their nests, and those that have already laid their eggs patiently incubate them. Given that the surprising winter weather is expected to be short-lived and the snow will not last long, the storks will cope with the bad weather conditions and can easily survive a day or two without food. This is not a precedent for the area, as a few years ago the villagers witnessed a similar sight at the end of March.
